Dear brothers and sisters

It is with immense sadness that I have to report the death of a much valued and hard working member of the International Community of St John the Divine (ICSJ) in the horrific terrorist attack in Karachi yesterday evening.
Pastor Nissim Ali was the most recent member of ICSJ, having incardinated to us earlier this year. He had a thriving ministry to the poorest and most outcast within his community in Islamabad, and had already been the victim of many interfaith assaults from other faiths in the area.
He had visited Karachi to join in the celebrations at the return of his heroine; Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, as a vehement supporter of her democartic and inclusive ideology. He was in the crowd adjacent to the bus as it passed and was hit by the blast. The only redeeming feature of this tradegy was that he almost certainly died instantaneously.
He now joins the multitude of the saints and angels working for peace and community on the 'other side' of life.
This wonderful mean of God (32 years old) leaves a widow, 7 children, and a devastated congregation numbering some 150 people.
Rest eternal grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual shine on all those who died in this atrocity. I shall lead a requiem Mass for his soul this Sunday at the ICSJ's Cathedral in Bournemouth UK, and would ask you all to pray for the delicate state of affairs in a very troubled Pakistan at this time.

Your servant

+Barry

Thankyou for the comment on the late Princess of Wales. Yes she was a wonderful ambasdorr for modern monerchy and will be missed, but time has gone by and we must think of the future.
Where is the press for Mother Theresa? She died in the same week and hasnt got nearly as much.
Thankyou again for common sense thoughts Bishop.

Thank you for the generous welcome, Bishop. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization. If we accomplish half our goals, we'll make the world a better place. We may take baby steps, but that's where all changes begin---with the first step.

Dear Sir
I have been wandering for so long from church to church, trying to understand the bitterness and angst within these so called places of prayer community and peace, yet finding no space for the individual.
I visited your 'Cathedral' site in Bournemouth last weekend whilst visiting a relative's grave in the grounds and was overwhelmed with the sense of welcome and genuine affection and faith I found when I invaded your service.
I was made to feel welcome and, dare I say, not only because of what I could pop in your plate (which I did notice was sparse but genuinely given) but, because no one tried to preach 'at' me, rather I was made to feel I had been there before.
I sincerely hope to pop in again when I am next in Boscombe (not often enough I am afraid) but in the meanwhile could you please send me details of any fellowships you have in the Ontario area of Canada. Both Emma and I would be so happy to find a place we could finally call home after so many years of searching.
Thankyou again.

Dear Dr Moule
Thankyou for your kind thoughts. It is always gratifying to receive messages of support. You will see from the website that we have recently created two avenues for Ordination/Incardination into the ICSJ. For those of a traditional background who wish to take Holy Orders there is the seminarian approach followed by diaconal ordination and a period of consolidation through practical and theoratical training followed by Priesting under the Old Catholic Rite.
For those who prefer to follow a less structured and ordered ministry within the Community there is a similar training programme followed by ordination as community Minister by acclamation of the people. However, it is important to note that all candidates for either formation or incardination are required to undergo the same application procedure, details of which can be found by following the 'Core Values in the ICSJ' button link adjacent.

God Bless.

I have heard so much about Bishop Barry Rathbone and after hours looking for the church website i have found it.

There is so much Information on here and its good to see the church is moving with the times. I have just stepped down as Archbishop due to my health but i will continue to follow the much news which appears on you website.

Just one Question ? Which service do you follow for Ordination to the Priesthood ?

Take care all, Blessings to each member at the International Community of Saint John the Divine.

Greetings to you from sunny Florida.
I was trawling through the vaste depths of the internet and stumbled across your site. I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see such openess and frank discussion on the workings of interfaith communions. Although I personally have difficulty with the issue of homosexual clergy, may I say how very much I enjoyed reading your pages and seeing your simple, no frills approach to faithworking. May God bless your continuing work with richness and fulfilment.

My soul-friend
Wants me to make progress
Only through
My inner and outer
Happiness.
Why do I invite God
To come and visit me every day?
I invite Him precisely because
He is my life's very old Friend
And my soul's only Friend.
O my body,
For you I have brought
A new friend: simplicity.
O my vital,
For you I have brought
A new friend: sincerity.
O my mind,
For you I have brought
A new friend: serenity.
O my heart,
For you I have brought
A new friend: purity.
O my life,
For you I have brought
A new friend: humility.
O my soul,
For you I have brought
A new friend: my surrender-seed.
O my God,
For you I have brought
A new friend: my perfection-fruit.

Hi there
Have just read your Patriarch's news item relating to the 'end days' theories and the horrible situation in the Amish Community. I used to live very close to the Amish Community working as a tour guide in the area, and knew by sight a number of the poor unfortunates there. I have to say that I agree very much with the comments made by Juan de Dios and try, in my own ordinary Joe way, to promote harmony and unconditional love to whoever I meet. Thank you for putting these ideals forward in print. May the Creative Force bless you. So Mote it be.

Dear David
Thankyou for your kind message. Due to the increasing size of the ICSJ it would take up a considerable amount of this site's ability to list links to all 415 clergy around the world. However I have passed your email address to our clergy in France and Belgium (one just over the border!) and they will contact you direct. Thanks again for your kind words.

Hi there
This is a very interesting site. Having wandered through many different faith bodies I am very impressed that you seem to be working together so well. What a wonderful sign of hope for us 'ex churchees'.
May the light of the Divine Spirit continue to bless your work. I shall keep watching with interest. Could you list your churches and groups in France so that I might make contact please?
