27 Jul 2008 - Bishop Barry to Retire from Role As Moderator

It is announced from Church House, that as of the end of July 2008 Bishop Barry is to retire from his position as moderator of The ICSJ.  

 

Bishop Barry has suffered with a number of health problems over the last 12 months and for the sake of his own health has decided to step down from his role.

 

 He has agreed with the board to remain in position as the pastoral leader of the church until congress 2009 where the election will take place for a new Bishop Metropolitan.

 

 

Bishop Barry intends to concentrate on his own personal ministry and his own work within the community.

 

 

Bishop Barry will not be involved with the day to day management of the Community from the end of July so any enquires should be directed to the new church house office at  icsjadmin@topmail.co.uk

 

 

The board have installed the Deputy Moderator; Bishop Ashley, as  acting moderator until congress 2009. Fr Eric Joannides assumes the role of acting deputy moderator during the same period.

On Behalf of the Board of the ICSJ and the community at large we would like to thank Bishop Barry for all his hard work and support over the last 16 years and wish him a very happy and blessed semi retirement.
